I created a TikTok account to post about teacher-related content to build my professional profile online. Social media is a relevant tool for our futures and it is important we reflect on its use in education to better ourselves and students experiences.
The Social Media Challenge assignment underscored the impact of social media on fostering effective communities where teachers and students can engage in meaningful dialogue, share ideas, and support each other's growth. My initial apprehensions about posting educational content on TikTok vanished through the structure of this assignment, which provided clear guidelines. Moreover, the support of teachers and students from other members demonstrates how it can be a positive tool in schools if strict parameters are set on how to use it for growth.
